I am glad to present you with my new watercolor painting. In many countries, the Iris flower is highly revered.
According to ancient Greek legend, Prometheus stole the heavenly fire on Olympus. While he was carrying it to the people, a bright seven-color rainbow flashed. It did not go out until dawn, and in the morning Iris flowers grew in its place.
Every year I love to watch the Iris bloom in the old “Giardino dell'Iris“ in Florence. The atmosphere of a warm May garden, the buzzing of bumblebees and a beautiful view of Florence inspired me to create this painting.
