Welcome to my Watercolor Tour in Tuscany, my name is Janet Pulcho, and I'm a contemporary artist based in Tuscany. My practice focuses on large-scale floral paintings that challenge the traditional perception of watercolor. Flowers are the central subject of my work—not as decorative motifs, but as expressive forms that convey movement, emotional depth, and inner balance.
I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, where I built a strong foundation in realistic painting and developed a deep commitment to watercolor as my primary medium.
After relocating to Italy, I continued my studies at the Florence Academy of Art, immersing myself in the history of Italian art. The influence of Renaissance painting—its compositional harmony, sense of scale, and emotional resonance— became a turning point in my artistic development. This experience led to the creation of a new body of work in which I analyze and reinterpret Renaissance masterpieces through the language of monumental floral compositions.
I have been working with watercolor for over thirteen years and I work exclusively with professional watercolor pigments, combining alla prima techniques with layered detailing to achieve depth, transparency, and lasting vibrancy.
Alongside my studio practice, I actively participate in international exhibitions, collaborate with brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Tintoretto, and publishing house Rowohlt, and conduct watercolor workshops in Florence and masterclasses on my Patreon channel, sharing my contemporary approach to the medium with an international audience.
